About Phallophile Reviews

Phallophile Reviews is a complete guide to body-safe sex toys—with a focus on silicone vibrators, dildos, and butt plugs. Our top priority is to help you make the best sex toy choice for you, based on your desires and preferences.

On this site, I (Felicity, the main writer; my boyfriend tests anal + penis toys!) only cover products that I would consider buying for myself or a close friend. We do not review sex toys sold exclusively on Amazon, as that platform is filled with misleading descriptions and lies about what is safe. And I feature retailers/dildo-makers whose shops I’ve personally bought from, and whose work I deeply respect. We’re so fortunate to have *a lot*of toy choices online today—literally, more every day—and Phallophile Reviews exists to weigh what’s worth it, vs. what’s not even worth consideringputting your 💲 into.

About Me & My Personal Preferences

I like vibrators, clit suction toys, and dildos. Lots of dildos – body-safe silicone, my fave. Call me Mother of Dildos, since I pick ’em and make ’em happen. My vag feels a lot and gets a lot of nuance from the most lifelike silicone dildos:

Phallophile Review mother of dildos
Daring to be illegal in TX: more than 6 dildos. F*ck sexual restrictions.

I also like some fantasy toys and occasionally a good glass dildo:

that time someone told me dildos were boring, phallophile face bathtub full of dildos
That time someone told me, “Dildos are boring” and I’m like, “🤔… Have you SEEN all the dildos?!?😈”

As a reviewer, I call you to first be aware of your own preferences. Different bodies have distinct tastes in re what they like! Discovering what *you*like is an exploration. Mostwomen need clitoral stimulation to orgasm.I describe my own feels in each review, and I read widely about how other humans react to popular toys. An overview of my preference set as a clit-and-vagina-haver follows, along with my current male partner’s likes/dislikes:

  • I love penetration, especially G-spot stimulation. I orgasm quickly, easily, and hard from vaginal sex alone, so I crave realistic dildos and lifelike thrusting motions. Prominent realistic heads are my fave thing vaginally.
  • I gravitate toward softer and squishier, “fleshy” silicone. I typically find it more comfortable than hard pressure.
  • I seek out motion: Thrusting, and also rubbing off clitorally. I’ll move a toy up and down my vulva everytime, rather than just holding it still over my clitoris.
  • I’m quite sensitive, both vaginally and clitorally. I do not like pointy, sharp, or spiky things near my genitals. When I run into a pointy G-spotting dildo like the Fun Factory Boss, I will feel overwhelmed. I actively seek out softer silicone and not-hard toys.
  • Still, I am not the mostsensitive person I’ve heard about, as I can stand dildo textures that aren’t uber-draggy (e.g., slight “printer texture” isn’t bothersome); and I do like moderately powerful vibrators.
  • I can’t doreally pinpoint clitoral stimulation, like the Fun Factory Volta or the Zumio. I go for broader toys: My fave vibes are the average-width Pillow Talk Sassy (rubbed clitorally, and as a G-spot vibrator) and the Magic Wand with its huge, broad head! I also hate pointy texture like “clit bumps” / over-hard raised lines.
  • Learning to enjoy anal playwas a journey for me—one that took some training! Since I discovered that anal can indeed be fun, I’ve found my favorites there and compose butt-focused reviews and guides, plus have done pegging anal play with several male partners, including my current very-giving & enthusiastic boyfriend for nearly 3 years now!
  • My boyfriend’s penis toypreferences: he likes full coverage (5″ length) and super-soft silicone but isn’t especially sensitive (0030 shore is soft enough, it needn’t be 0020). He prefers realistic vulva looks & rugae. Firm cannister-surrounded masturbators are tougher for him to cum in; he likes a soft grippable sleeve. He can orgasm from vibration on his frenulum quickly.
fun sex toys - penis plushie in my bathroom Saturday night
Just a Saturday night with a ginormous plush penis, LOL.

I’m a bisexual, cisfemale, exhibitionist, former book editor & perennial lover of language, ex-religious humanist, intersectional feminist, foodie & coffee nerd. I will point out patriarchal bullshit while drinking a pour-over. I’m endlessly curious: Why are things the way they are, and can we improve them? Also, as a type 1 diabetic, I’m very conscious of how much energy sexual activity can expend, so I appreciate automatic-motion toys & sex machines when I don’t want to impact my blood sugar!

Most important: I hope you learn to explore yourself while reading my site & all our adventures!

We Run This Site 100% Ad-Free, with Your Support!

Phallophile Reviews is able to run without a spammy array of pop-ups, random ads flashing mid-page, and zero paid promos, because of your support. (Have you tried to find a recipe online lately? My god the amount of ads.)

Buying from my affiliated sex shops here costs you nothing extra, while I earn a small commission that justifies the time I spend composing reviews and guide posts: Each review is a full day’s time spent, and guides take 2 to 3 full days to write (not includingproduct research or testing time!). Check out my discount codes, felicityorphal10, or click here for 10% off Peepshow Toys all-body-safe purchases(minus SquarePegToys & Njoy Disco, by makers’ policy). Thank you a ton!!!!!!

I deeply appreciate your support. It allows me to be an fully independent reviewer: not bound to write positively about any brand. I’m so grateful I can ignore all the… questionablepromo solicitations that arrive in my inbox, and only accept quality brands who won’t expect me to wear rose-colored glasses.

I do not write reviews for any upfront fee. I don’t work with manufacturers directly in most casesbecause they often expect positive reviews in exchange for sending product, which creates more bias, IMO. Lovense, for example, refused to send new toys after I critically reviewed their “fingering vibrator” that’s a prostate plug with buzzy motor.

I do write indie toymaker reviews for shops that are respected in the fantasy community. Just a few examples of quality indies: Fantasy Grove, Strange Bedfellas, Pleasure Forge, Fantasticocks, Paladin Pleasure Sculptors, and Pris Toys. Sex toy artists, they are!!!

Instead, I work with shops that carry a range of manufacturers. I primarily work with Peepshow Toys because they’ve been the most supportive of my critical takedown reviews and “line up 10 toys and see what’s best, discard the rest” approach for the last 7 years. (Plus, you cannot accidentally purchase a toxic PVC dildo at their shop, since they don’t carry any unsafe toys).

Guest Posts

I don’t accept guest postsunless I believe the author is really authorative in a sexuality-related field, and honest too. I do all my own writing, with my partner contributing short descriptions about his experiences. In the past, I occasionally outsourced penis & prostate toy reviews to respect-worthy writers like All Male Sex Toys.

Social Media

I post new review updates & what I’m loving currently at:

  • Please subscribe to my newsletter, foremost. This is the easiest way to digest content that’s more detailed (but I pick out shorter chunks vs. my full reviews = “sex toys Cliffs Notes”).
  • Instagram, @phallophilereviews is my main platform currently.
  • Ko-fi if you’re feeling generous & want to buy my 1 large weekly artisan coffee-bag! I used Kofi to fund an osmometer for my complete lube safety guide, thank you!!!
  • Twitter, @PhallophileRev. It’s still great for seeing all the fantasy toy makers & community. Maybe. I’m nervous about data-mining now as X has gotten more extremist and less regulated for safety.
  • YouTube, where I do very occasional video reviews & toys-in-motion demos. Mostly out of use, since YT keeps removing my clean demos even when marked as 18+, and then bans me from posting!
